Our Events and Community Initiatives

  • Northwest Community Childcare held an incredible 'Anxiety in the Family Homeseminar on Wednesday the 19th of June with Clinical Psychologist, Colleen Hirst.

We are currently planning a Part 2 seminar that will cover specifically Anxiety in Children. This topic will be beneficial to all families, even if you didn’t attend our first seminar.

Keep an eye out for the announcement of this exciting event, happening mid 2025!

  • Mainly Music is a structured music session for you and your pre-school aged child or younger to participate in together.

During the session, your child will be learning and developing; participating in the music, expressing their imagination, finding enjoyment in the educational moments, laughing at the puppets and participating in group activities. Your little one will enjoy this sensory event. Key will be your experience of attachment and the lasting emotional bond a child forms with a specific person that provides safety, comfort, soothing and pleasure.

Rouse Hill Baptist Church runs a Mainly Music session on Fridays at 10am during school terms.

  • NWCC has a small services program that supports the families in schools that many other providers avoid, as they are small and not profitable to run. NWCC takes on these schools as a community service initiative to ensure that the families in our local area in these smaller schools, have the same opportunity for care that other larger schools offer. NWCC runs 3 of the smallest services in this region, with one of the schools we support only having 26 children enrolled in the entire school!

How does NWCC go over and above?
Every provider will say they provide nutritious meals, great programs and quality staff. These are regulated requirements for all providers. NWCC does more. We support families in need through our Uniforms and Canteen plan which enable families doing it tough to get support from their local school when the cost of uniforms, lunch and excursions become too much to afford.

Our P&C involvement also goes over and above. We aim not to just take an interest in our local P&C’s, but to get involved. We support Mother’s Day and Father’s Day stalls and every initiative that the P&C is involved in to promote the school. When asked, we even go further and have supported some of our P&C communities with money for playgrounds, fetes, year 6 farewells etc.

What about disaster relief, in an ever-changing global climate? The Hawkesbury region is prone to floods and the occasional bushfire. It is in our constitution that NWCC must support local community work outside of our usual community support through childcare. NWCC sources local community aid and relief operations to support in the toughest of times for our community.
